Lake Marian

Lake Marian is an alpine lake in the Fiordland National Park in New Zealand. The lake is located just above the treeline in a hanging valley near The Divide pass. The valley is sheltered by steep snow-covered peaks of over 2,000 metres on all sides apart from the entrance. 

It's a steep hike up to this lake, but the astonishing beauty of this spot is worth the effort, and is the perfect place for a picnic.
